SCRAPBOOKING GLOBAL BLOG HOP JUNE 2021

Welcome scrapbooking friends to another Global Blog Hop! I can't believe we are already half way through the year. Things sure are starting to heat up around here in Colorado. I mean that literally. We went from cooler weather (mid 70's) to a heat wave (upper 90's) within a week! As a matter of fact, it's supposed to be 100 degrees on Wednesday! It's a great time to stay indoors and scrapbook right?!

Here it is. This month's theme challenge was called Grab 5.

Let's give a big shout out to Courtenay Heuston for this fun take on some creative inspiration!

Alright, time for the nitty gritty. Take a look below to see which five products we had to include on our layouts this month. Could you include all five? It was difficult for me because I opted to go with a masculine layout. I wanted to create something in time for Father's Day this weekend. I would say the two products I struggled with the most were the 5 Gems & Ribbon. It was hard to coordinate those two onto a manly type page, but somehow it worked!

Be sure to read below to see how!

Here it is, my "Dad & Me" page! These three photos are very dear to my heart! That is my husband holding our daughter for the first time. I know what you are thinking. Look at all that hair!!! LOL! My daughter was born with thick black hair that turned blonde by the time she was one. She definitely had  A LOT of it!

Time to reveal my Grab 5 products:

1.  Die Cuts - I used the small Stitched Circle die to cut circles from several patterns of the In Good Taste 12" x 12" DSP and Night of Navy cardstock. I adhered them on the page in horizontal (4 across) & vertical rows (3 on top, 2 on bottom) along the left side of the page.

2. 5 Gems - I opted for the Gilded Gems and placed them in the middle of the five Night of Navy circle die cuts.

3. Embossing - I decided to go through my retired stash and found the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set. It's been awhile since I've used it and thought this added a fun accent to the upper right side of the page. I stamped the image in versa mark ink first. I then sprinkled White Stampin' Emboss Powder over the top and used my heat tool to set it. It's so cool how it changes to a glossy finish!

4. Alphabet Stamps - Once again I relied on my retired stamp collection for this bold alphabet set. I stamped the letters in Night of Navy Ink on the Smoky Slate background. It actually doesn't look that navy at all. It's got more of a black hue to it which was perfect!

5. Ribbon - It's hard to see it, but I included Night of Navy ribbon over the two pattern designs I selected for the center of the page. It's subtle which is what I was going for. The blue texture pattern was cut 2' x 12" and the herringbone design was cut 3" x 12".

I hope this page gives you some creative inspiration to focus on all those wonderful Dads out there!

Happy Stamping!

THankyou for all the close up photos of all the elements - it's so easy to miss all the great little details on a page. And Gorgeous Grunge must be one of those all time great stamp sets!! Great page.
What a beautiful layout with all the elements. Great dedication just in time for Father’s Day. I’m sure he loves it!
I think you have absolutely nailed this page and the brief! Fabulous!! It can be hard to create masculine page and you have perfected it here! I love all your 5 elements and their placements.
