CASE-ING TUESDAY #310 - CELEBRATE SUNFLOWERS 🌻

Happy Tuesday! Welcome to another CASE-ING TUESDAY SKETCH CHALLENGE. My card today features the Watercolor Pencils. I literally had to dust off the case I keep them in. It's been a LONG time since I have colored with these fun pencils. I forgot how perfect they are for water coloring stamped images.

I absolutely love the stamp set that was used on the original card. It's called Sharing Sunshine and is definitely on my wish list! You can find it on page 39 of the Annual Catalog.

For the most part, I kept true to the card measurements found in the sketch this week. The only thing I changed was using the sunflower die cut in place of the 2-1/4" circle.

I started with a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Crushed Curry card base scored at 4-1/4" and folded in half. Next, I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" layer from the In Good Taste 12" x 12" DSP. I love the design of this woodgrain pattern. Adhere this layer to the card base.

Cut a 3/4" x 3-7/8" strip of Pattern Party 12" x 12" DSP. I liked the Floral Design found on the Crushed Curry design. Next, cut a 3/4" x 4" strip from the Bloom Where You're Planted pattern of DSP. Adhere both the strips using Stampin' Seal.

I stamped the large sunflower and three leaves in Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock. I colored the center of the sunflower using the Early Espresso pencil found in Assortment 1. I colored the outer rim of the center with Crushed Curry from Assortment 2. Blend these colors together using a Blender Pen. I colored the sunflower petals using both Crushed Curry and Daffodil Delight. Blend the colors together ever so slightly leaving areas of white showing.

The leaves were colored with Old Olive. I started dark in the center and used my Blender pen to pull the color towards the edges. Die cut these images out using the coordinating Sunflowers Dies. I attached the dies using dimensionals to the card base.

I thought the Gilded Gems added a special touch to the card.

I wrapped approximately 14" of Linen Thread around the wood DSP layer. I tied a bow on one side and trimmed off the excess.

The sentiment was stamped in Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock. I used the Banners Pick A Punch to create a pennant. I attached the sentiment using dimensionals on the bottom.

Now it's your turn! Create your take on this week's sample and be sure to share it on the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group using #caseingtuesday310.
