CASE-ING TUESDAY #307- IN SYMMETRY

Hey everyone! Hard to believe that we are already in the second week of June. It's been so HOT here in Colorado. We went from cooler weather (upper 70's) to 90 degrees overnight. My husband teases it's like someone flipped on a light switch. LOL!

I ordered the Sweet Symmetry Suite for an upcoming retreat. However, I have been anxiously staring at it for a few weeks. I finally decided it was going to be perfect for today's Case-ing Tuesday Sketch Challenge.

In case you don't know. CASE is an acronym for Copy And Share Everything. The original card we are CASE-ing features products from the Pansy Patch Suite. It can be found on page 28 of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.

Here are the card measurements. You can follow them exactly as shown below or switch it up a bit. The possibilities are up to you! I switched mine up just a little when it came to the placement of the sentiment.

First, I started with a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" card base in Just Jade cardstock. I stamped the small flowers randomly along the left hand side of the card in Just Jade ink.

Next, I cut a piece of the new Paper Lattice down to 2-3/4" x 3" square.  I glued this piece down to the card base focusing on the middle of the card.

I selected two patterns of the Sweet Symmetry DSP. The pink strip was cut 3/4" x 5-1/4". The yellow strip was cut 3/4" x 5" in length. I glued the paper strips exactly as shown on the card sketch.

I die cut one of the shapes from the Hippo and Friends Dies in Basic White Cardstock. I stamped the leaves image in Just Jade Ink. I stamped the flower in Flirty Flamingo Ink on the die cut. I stamped the image again on a scrap piece of Basic White Cardstock and fussy cut the image out using my paper snips. I stamped the stem in Just Jade Ink. I attached the die cut to the card base using dimensionals. I added a few more dimensionals on the back of the flower image and attached it to the card overlapping the previous stamped image. It just gives a little extra detail to the card. I made a bow and trimmed the ends with the new Flirty Flamingo 1/4" Gold Metallic Ribbon. I attached the bow using a Glue Dot.

I added several Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins to the flower die cut. I love how these sequins come in 4 different colors (Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Mango Melody, & Rich Razzleberry) and two sizes. I used a large Calypso Coral for the bottom of the flower and five Mango Melody for the petals.

The final step involves completing the sentiment. I stamped "Best Day Ever!" in Just Jade ink on a 3/4" x 4" piece of Basic White Cardstock. Once you go to place it on the actual card you will learn that the sentiment is too long. I trimmed the excess off using the edge of the card base as my guide. I attached a couple of dimensionals and tucked it slightly behind the die cut.
