SCRAPBOOKING GLOBAL BLOG HOP MAY 2022

Welcome! It's finally time for this month's Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop.

Our theme challenge this month was Map. I have to admit. This challenge really got my wheels turning! I tried to think of an event I could scrapbook that would not only correlate with our theme, but also match the products that Stampin' Up! sells. When I think about a map. I think TRAVEL!

Scrapbooking Global Design Team Member Sharon Dalton selected our theme challenge this month. It was a great one!

As I was sorting through vacation photos, I stumbled across this picture. We had to leave our RV sitting on the side of the road due to a part failure. This was such a traumatic experience (for me)! We had just crossed the State Line from South Dakota into Wyoming and were literally in the middle of no where when we had to pull off. The next small town was over 50 miles away. Luckily, my husband is very handy and figured out what the mechanical problem was. We unhooked our tow vehicle and drove to Newcastle where we found a temporary fix (the replacement part would be waiting for us in Casper).

I was so excited when I saw these coordinating die cuts that come with the He's The Man 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack. Not only are these elements perfect for card making, but they are GREAT FOR SCRAPBOOKING!

As you can see here, I used several of the die cuts on my layout. I also used one of the pattern designs for the base.

Measurements:
He's The Man DSP (Diamond Design): 12" x 12"
Vellum Layer (Map Design): 8-1/2" x 12"
He's The Man DSP (Stripe Design): 1" x 12"
He's The Man DSP (Early Espresso): 1/2" x 12"
He's The Man DSP (Camper Design): 6" x 6"

Remember how I mentioned I was trying to figure out the map and product correlation? Guess what! Stampin' Up! sells this AMAZING Vellum 12" x 12" Layering Designs paper that comes with a map design printed right on it!! The vellum imagery is perfect for capturing all your travel needs.

Check out this fun tab die cut! I plan on using a rotary date stamp to mark the timeline of our unfortunate travel event.

I fell in LOVE with the saying on this die cut element! I think it speaks a tad of sarcasm for how our day was going! Our family was on a grand adventure to find the perfect part. LOL!

Both the arrow and star elements are included with the die cut sheet. I added a few Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots to complete the look.

This die cut element resonates with my heart. No matter how scary or unpredictable a situation can become...I know that "with you I'm Never Lost". I can't wait to go on another RV trip with my husband and daughter!

I trimmed the decorative edge off this die cut element. I will go back and journal my thoughts and feelings about the stress and crazy emotions I felt that day.

Your page came together perfectly! I love the vellum overlay and you are right, the sticker sheet was great for that picture. I'm glad your husband is so handy and you were able to get things fixed enough to make it to Casper. We spent a couple of summers in WY (2018 & 19) and there is a lot of wide open space there! We hit an antelope one time and were glad the van was still driveable because we were 30 miles from the nearest town.
WOW!!! What an adventure!!! YES I am loving all the masculine products that Stampin' Up! have offered us this catalogue...Your layout is AWESOME and lots of great elements that tie in with your photos.
Thank you for joining in this month with my theme of Maps.
Cheers Shaz <3
