CASE-ING TUESDAY #356 - SWEETEST CHERRIES 🍒

Welcome back to another CASE-ing Tuesday Sketch Challenge! My daughter and I were at the grocery store yesterday and purchased our first bag of cherries! I love it when they come back in season. It means Summer is right around the corner. Cherries make a great snack-wouldn't you agree? Who would of thought purchasing produce at the supermarket could lead to my card inspiration today?

Here is a look at the example card a member of the blog team selected for our challenge today. It can be found on page 162 of the Annual Catalog. How cute are those elephants? I may need to add the Elephant Parade Bundle on my next order!

The measurements this week are super simple! That means it's easy to create an adorable card in just a few minutes.

Measurements:
Basic Black Cardstock: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" score at 4-1/4" & folded in half
Parakeet Party Cardstock Layer: 3-1/4" x 4-5/8"
Basic White Cardstock Layer: 2-3/4" x 4-1/8"
2022-2024 In Color Assortment DSP (Sweet Sorbet): 3/4" x 5-1/2"

The Sweetest Cherries Bundle features both the stamp set and the coordinating Cherry Builder Punch at a discounted savings of 10% off!

I wanted to add a bit of texture to the first card layer so I opted to emboss the Parakeet Party cardstock layer with the Gingham Embossing Folder. Adhere the embossed layer to the center of the card base.

Use the Banners Pick A Punch to trim both ends of the Sweet Sorbet DSP. Adhere this strip in the middle like shown.

Next, grab the Basic White cardstock layer and stamp "Sweet" in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Stamp the greeting right above it in Sweet Sorbet Ink. Adhere the Basic White cardstock layer to the card base.

Don't these cherries look "yummy" enough to eat?! I stamped the stems in Soft Suede Ink and punched them out using the coordinating Cherry Builder Punch. Next, I stamped the leaves in Parakeet Party Ink and the inside image with Mossy Meadow Ink. Punch both the leaves out with the same punch.

HELPFUL TIP: I was struggling in the beginning trying to get a dark red color for my cherries. I found that if you use the Stamparatus and stamp the image twice you get a rich image like I've shown above. The cool thing about the Stamparatus is it helps easily align stamped images so you don't struggle trying to line-up the image perfectly the second time. It also gives you a crisp impression every time.

I added a (3) Matte Black Dots to complete the look. I hope you like the card I created for you today.

Now it's your turn! Create your take on this week's sample and be sure to share it on the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group using #caseingtuesday356.

Happy Stamping!
