WE CREATE BLOG HOP - MAKING MEMORIES
Welcome to the We Create August Blog Hop! Hard to believe we are nearing the end of dog days of summer. In just a few weeks the kids will be heading back to school. So many wonderful memories of each individual school year begin with the first day photo. It's always fun to mark this special occasion.
The theme for the We Create Blog Hop is "Making Memories". Memory making can refer to a variety of activities that help people create mementos and retain memories of loved ones or friends. Let's face it. Happy memories are good for our health!
For my layout, I started with a sheet of Basic White 12" x 12" cardstock. Next, I picked a fun design found in the Flowering Zinnias 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper Pack. This paper pack has STUNNING bold & bright floral patterns that are great for all sorts of projects.
Once I selected a paper pattern, I folded along the edge (at an angle) to showcase both the double-sided designs. HELPFUL TIP: use a ruler to help guide the paper as you fold it over.
Time for some die cutting! Each one of the Zinnia flowers leaves were created using the Simply Zinnias dies. All the colors of cardstock I used can be found below in the product carousel.
As you can see, I used various colors to compliment the floral design found on the paper. I even "popped" a few of the flowers for added dimension.
I needed something simple for the bottom corner of the page. I decided to print the title and name of my daughter's school. Each of the titles were cut out and layered on Highland Heather & Melon Mambo cardstock.
I also added a few Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels throughout the page.
