We Create Blog Hop - All The Pretty Colors

Welcome to the We Create June Blog Hop! I've seen so many fun projects being made with the Full of Life 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper that I decided it was time to give one a try. My daughter attended a Girl Scout Camp at Meadow Mountain Ranch in Allenspark, Colorado many years ago. I stumbled upon this picture with her and friends. The first thing that caught my eye was the burst of colors from each of their shirts. I knew this photo would be perfect to adapt into a colorful scrapbook collage!

The Friends of Life 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper features a GORGEOUS set of watercolor designs that were hand painted by artisans. You can choose from Organic squares, circles, color wheels, and brush stroke designs. So bright and cheerful!

The theme for the We Create Blog Hop is "All the Pretty Things". If you are looking for some colorful collaborations be sure to hop along!

To create my layout, I selected a few of the fun patterns. Did you know that Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper includes double-sided designs? I used the front and back of two sheets. I trimmed the second sheet in half leaving me two pieces of 3" x 6" in size.

I die cut the title using the word die from Friends For Life Dies from Basic White Cardstock.

I added (3) Iridescent Faceted Gems to the upper right corner of the page.

To create this unique heart shape. I used the metal die from the Friends for Life die set. This set features a large heart shape with a patterned interior.

Next, I used a Stampin' Write Marker in Basic Black to outline each one of the shapes on a piece of Basic White cardstock. From there, I colored the inside of each of the shapes using the brush tip of the Stampin' Write Markers in a rainbow assortment of colors. Note the colors listed below:

  1. Petal Pink
  2. Pretty in Pink
  3. Flirty Flamingo
  4. Melon Mambo
  5. Peach Pie
  6. Pumpkin Pie
  7. Lemon Lolly
  8. Lemon Lime Twist
  9. Summer Splash
  10. Shy Shamrock
  11. Boho Blue
  12. Azure Afternoon
  13. Highland Heather
  14. Fresh Freesia
  15. Petunia Pop
  16. Berry Burst

Here's what it looks like once the coloring is complete.

Next, I die cut the heart image using the outer shape.

Since the outline heart die doesn't cut the entire shape out completely. I used my paper snips to cut off the remaining portion that was attached.

I love this layout, and how the paper pulls in all the colors from the picture! I honestly never would have thought of using this patterned paper for a scrapbook page, but this is awesome! Thanks for sharing :-D
