Welcome back to another CASE-ing Tuesday Sketch Challenge. For today's card, I had the "Astronaut in the Ocean" song stuck in my head. It has such a catchy beat and a memorable hook. The song definitely means different things to different people. Maybe you want to be an astronaut? Or travel to space? With the Stargazing Suite Collection by Stampin' Up! you can do both!
Here's a look at the card we are CASE-ing this week. The example card can be found on page of 51 of the Annual Catalog.
I started with a 4-1/4" x 11" (scored at 5-1/2") Blackberry Bliss card base. I selected an celestial pattern from the Stargazing 12" x 12" DSP. I liked this astrological design with the fun colors and milky way design. Adhere the 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" DSP layer to the front of the card base.
I die cut a 3-1/2" x 4" rectangle from the retired Stitched Rectangles Die Set in Starry Blue cardstock. I selected a second pattern from the Stargazing 12" x 12" DSP. This time I selected the stars design in Berry Burst. It helps add a "pop" of color. Adhere the 2-3/8" x 3-3/4" DSP on the Rectangle Stitched Die Cut. Adhere the die cut to the front of the card base using adhesive.
Using the Reach for the Stars Stamp Set. Stamp the space shuttle in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Basic White cardstock. Die cut the image out using the coordinating space shuttle die from the Reach for the Stars Die set. Attach the space shuttle to the card using Stampin' dimensionals.

The flames were created using Pumpkin Pie cardstock. I used two of the metal dies from the Reach for the Stars die set to create this look. I also used a Sponge Dauber along with Pumpkin Pie Ink, to sponge each of the edges of the die cuts. Attach the flame die cuts to the bottom side of the space shuttle using Mini Glue Dots.
Did I mention the Reach for the Stars Die Set is also great for layering circles. It comes with perfect circles and ring dies you can use to fashion your own planets in whatever colors you want. You can voyage to new planets with the Reach for the Stars Dies!
I stamped the greeting in Blackberry Bliss Ink on a Basic White cardstock. I die cut the greeting using the coordinating layering circle dies found in the Reach for the Stars die Set. I used the third largest metal circle die. Attach the circle to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals. This sentiment resonates well with me. I hope you always "Reach for the Stars."
Happy Stamping!
I hope you will give this sketch a try!
