Hi everyone! I hope you are having a FABULOUS Tuesday! The weather has finally been in the upper 90's here in Colorado and we get to enjoy watching semi-professional golfers playing in the Korn Ferry Tournament all week. How exciting! I got the inspiration for my card from the players brightly colored attire.
Here's a look at the supplies you will need to create today's card.
The card we are CASE-ing can be found on the cover of the Annual Catalog. I've got to admit. I really like the example card showcased this week. I thought about CASE-ing it just the way it was.
I did follow the measurements exactly. Except for the sentiment layer. Which is 1/2" x 3" to accommodate the "Happy Birthday" greeting from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set.
Confession time. Who else is a paper hoarder? I stocked up on all of my favorite packs of paper during the Designer Series Paper Sale last month. When I was looking for an idea for my card. I stumbled on this beautiful patterned paper from the Masterfully Made 12" x 12" DSP. I love the rainbow colors!
I started with a 4-1/4" x 11" (scored @ 5-1/2") Azure Afternoon card base. Next, I cut a 3" x 4-1/2" Night of Navy cardstock layer. Select a pattern of paper and cut to 2-5/8" x 4". Adhere this layer to the Night of Navy cardstock layer overlapping the right edge about 1/4".
Attach the Night of Navy cardstock layer to the front of the card using Stampin' dimensionals.
Using the 2 3/8" Circle Punch. I punched out a circle layer using Pretty Peacock cardstock. Attach this to the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Next, die cut the large flowers in Basic White cardstock from the Artistic Dies.
Now it's time to color! Using several sponge daubers, I colored the large flower die cut. Sponge daubers are a great way to apply touches of Classic Stampin' Ink on stamps or directly on projects. They also fit on your finger for great control.
Here are the Classic Stampin' Ink colors I used:
Crushed Curry-Center of large flower
Balmy Blue-Petal of large flower
Fresh Freesia-Small Roses
Berry Burst-Large Rose
Parakeet Party-Leaves
Shaded Spruce-Floral Branches
I left the remaining branches white.
Once you finish coloring, you get this AMAZING array of rainbow colors! So beautiful. You can also just the leave the die cut white if you wish. Either one looks great on the card! Attach the die cut to the center of the Pretty Peacock Circle Punch layer using Mini Glue Dots in the middle. Don't worry. If you place them right, they won't show and will get covered up with the sentiment.
I stamped the greeting in Night of Navy ink on a piece of 1/2" x 3" Fresh Freesia cardstock. Attach the sentiment layer to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Lastly, attach (3) Tinsel Gems in Blueberry Bushel to the front of the card as shown.
That's it! I hope you like the card I designed for the CASE-ing Tuesday #416 Sketch Challenge this week. If you have any questions, please let me know by posting in the comments section below.
Happy Stamping!
I hope you will give this sketch a try!
