CASE-ING TUESDAY #303 - WELL SUITED
Can you believe it's Tuesday already? You know what that means. It's time for another CASE-ING TUESDAY SKETCH CHALLENGE!
I was sad to miss last week's challenge. I had to work that day and my daughter was inducted into the National Honor Society at her High School. We are SO VERY PROUD of her!
This masculine card was inspired by my husband! As a Real Estate Agent here in Colorado, he always needs to dress sharp. A classic white button up shirt with a stripe tie is usually his go to attire under his dark grey striped suite jacket when he is meeting with potential clients. Anyways, this is the card my daughter will give him for Father's Day.
The original sketch features one of my favorite product suites from the Annual Catalog. It's the Hand-Penned Suite featured on page 98 & 104.
I followed the measurements of the sketch exactly for this card. One reason why I love about creating masculine cards is there is no need to change anything. The more simple the better.
First, adhere the 4" x 4-1/2" piece of DSP to the Night of Navy cardstock base. The tie was die cut using one of the pattern papers that comes in the Well Suited DSP pack. It can actually be found on the backside of the gray stripe paper you see here.
The shirt pocket was die cut from Basic White cardstock. I used a dimensional underneath. The blue handkerchief, also called a hankie, was actually die cut from the shirt collar in Night of Navy cardstock. I trimmed the piece down to "tuck" it behind the pocket, but leaving just enough of the square to peak out.
I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink on the 3-1/8" x 4-1/2" Basic White cardstock layer.
Here's a closer look at the shirt collar. I trimmed the left side of the collar using the paper edge as my guide. I also used a dimensional to raise the small center piece of the tie.
