Hello! I'm SO EXCITED to share with you the card I created for this week's Case-ing Tuesday #412 Sketch Challenge. I love all the fun critters found in the Zoo Crew Suite Collection. My card features the fun Zany Zoo Bundle along with the coordinating Zoo Crew 12" x 12" DSP (currently 15% off) and Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon found in the Duo Combo Pack.
Here's a look at the card we are CASE-ing. You can keep it simple like the sketch or add layers for a unique effect. I chose to add a few additional layers to give my card more dimension.
First, I grabbed a Blending Brush and my Petal Pink Stampin' Pad. Using a circular motion I applied the ink to the 4" x 5-1/4" Zany Zoo Designer Series Paper layer.
Once finished, it should look something like this. As you can see, the pink adds a very subtle "pop" of color. If you would like it to stand out more. Keep applying the color over the same areas several times. Apply this layer to the 4-1/4" x 11" Basic Black card base at a slight angle using adhesive.
Next, I cut a piece of 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" Petal Pink cardstock and layered it under the 3-3/4" x 5" Zany Zoo Designer Series Paper layer. Do not adhere to the card base yet. Set it aside.
For the next step, I stamped the ADORABLE singing turtle in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock. I die cut the turtle image using the coordinating die from the Zany Zoo Dies. I die cut the stool in Pecan Pie cardstock.
I used the following Stampin' Blend markers to color the turtle. Both Granny Apple Light & Dark were used on the shell. I used Crumb Cake Light for the body. Smoky Slate Light & Pecan Pie Light for the microphone.
Next, I die cut a 2-1/2" Basic Black circle using the Stylish Shapes Dies. I grabbed my new 2-3/8" Circle Punch, cut a Basic White circle, and layered it on top. Once complete, set the circle die cut aside.
To add dimension, like what is being shown on the example card. I decided to die cut the paper layer using the same 2-1/2" Stylish Shapes Circle that I used before.
Now it is time to adhere the die cut circle and the paper layer to the card base. I added several dimensionals to the backside of the cardstock layer. Apply the layer to the card base slightly at an angle. Next, adhere the die cut circle to the front of the card. Placing it inside the missing circle.
Lastly, I stamped the "Happy Birthday To You" greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on a scrap piece of Petal Pink cardstock. I die cut the greeting out using the label die found in the Stylish Shapes Dies. Adhere it to the card base using dimensionals. Cut approximately 10" of the Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon from the Ribbon Duo Pack and tie a bow. Attach it the label using a Glue Dot. Trim off any excess ribbon from the ends.
That's it! Such a fun birthday card to give to a child or friend!
