CASE-ING TUESDAY #343 - DRIVING BY SALE-A-BRATION STAMP SET

It's time for another CASE-ing Tuesday Sketch Challenge! A big welcome if this is your first time visiting my blog.

My card today features a Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set called Driving By. Better hurry! There are only a few weeks left to earn this fun stamp for FREE with any $50 Stampin' Up! purchase (before tax & shipping).

The example card we are CASE-ing can be found on page 58 of the Spring Mini Catalog.

Here are the card measurements for this week. I love all the layering that is going on! I added a few additional elements to my card. Rather than placing the (2) 1/2" x 3-1/4" strips on the front of the circle die cut. I chose to layer them underneath a scallop circle.

I started with a Basic Black card base. Next, I selected several design patterns from the Artfully Composed 12" x 12" DSP. I love this paper! I also selected this fun "road map" design from the Vellum 12" x 12" Layering Designs. Honestly, it's what helped spark my card design.

I stamped the sentiment on a piece of 3-1/2" x 5-1/2" Basic White Cardstock. You might be wondering how I was able to stamp the sentiment vertically along the edge of the cardstock. As you can see in the picture posted below, the sentiment comes as one horizontal stamp with the sentiments on top of each other. I used a cool "Post it Note" technique.

Check out the steps below:

  1. Place the post it note over the area you don't want to stamp on. Ink your stamp.

2. Line-up your image where you want it and stamp as normal.

3. Remove the stamp. Notice how the second sentiment image is stamped on the post it note and not on the cardstock layer.
4. Remove the post it note.

5. Repeat the steps I mentioned above, but this time place the post it note above the cardstock layer as being shown.

6. TADA! Here is how it should look once you are done. Pretty cool, huh!

I stamped the vehicle in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on the die cut and colored it using several Stampin' Blends.

For the final touch, I used the Pebble Enamel Shapes in Cinnamon Cider to create a cobblestone road.

Now it's your turn! Create your take on this week's sample and be sure to share it on the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group using #caseingtuesday342.
