SCRAPBOOKING GLOBAL BLOG HOP NOVEMBER 2021

Big shout out to the Scrapbooking Global Design Team Member-Courtenay Heuston for choosing this month's theme challenge-Scrap Lift! As a participant, I could use any scrapbook layout for inspiration to create my own layout and then share the original sketch as part of my post.

Here is the layout I decided to SCRAP LIFT! Isn't it a fun page? I LOVE all the bright colors and the cool Summer design of this creative layout.

I'm so glad you are blog hopping with us! I've got a BIG SURPRISE for you today!

My scrapbook layout features NEW products from the upcoming January-June 2022 SPRING MINI CATALOG & January-February 2022 SALE-A-BRATION BROCHURE!

As I was looking through some old photos back in the year 2011 I stumbled across this photo of my daughter my mother took. She's peering through binoculars at the GORGEOUS rainbow in the sky.

One of the perks of becoming a demonstrator, is having the ability to order newly released products early before everyone else. I knew I couldn't resist the Rainbows Stamp set bundle from the upcoming January-June 2022 Mini Catalog along with the Sunshine & Rainbows 6" x 6" DSP from the upcoming January-February 2022 Sale-A-Bration Brochure to create this fun scrapbook layout.

I used the following colors (top to bottom) to create my rainbow background on a piece of 12" x 12" Basic White cardstock.

  • Misty Moonlight
  • Bermuda Bay
  • Pool Party
  • Granny Apple Green
  • Soft Sea Foam
  • So Saffron
  • Mango Melody
  • Petal Pink
  • Flirty Flamingo
  • Magenta Madness

You will need a Blending Brush (or several) and a couple pieces of Grid Paper to cover the area you are working on. Please Note: I rinsed my blending brush after each use and let air dry before moving on to the next shade of color.

I started blending the colors from the bottom and worked my way to the top. The key is to rub the brush off on a piece of scrap paper before you begin to apply the color on the page. This helps eliminate "dark circles" forming in areas that will show. You can kind of see where I got to much ink on my brush while forming the green shaded area. I like to gently press my finger on the top of the brush and work in circular motions to blend the color on the page. This allows a bit more control and even distribution of the colors.

Here's another close-up of the photo. I matted the photo on a piece of 4" x 6" Basic White Cardstock.

Here's another sneak peek of several of the fun paper designs from the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP. I am absolutely giddy over of this paper! The rainbows and sunshine pattern design is actually one sheet of 6"x 6" paper cut in half (3" x 6"). I then layered one over the top of the other to create the length I needed to cover the page. I did this again with the pink rainbow pattern. The paper size is 2" x 6" and I banner cut one of the ends. Don't worry about the overhang. It gets covered up by the photo.

I used one of the Brilliant Rainbows Dies to cut the rainbow border from one of the DSP patterns and adhered it to the page using Mulitpurpose Glue. Again the two die cut pieces will overlap each other.

I fussy cut the cloud images from one of the DSP patterns and added several dimensionals before layering them on the page. I stamped the raindrops from the Rainbows of Happiness Photopolymer Stamp Set (available Jan. 4) in Misty Moonlight Ink.

The stamped sentiment is from the Rainbows of Happiness Photopolymer Stamp Set (available Jan. 4) in Misty Moonlight Ink on a piece of 3/4" x 3" piece of Basic White cardstock. I punched the end of the sentiment with the Banners Pick A Punch and then adhered it with Stampin' Dimensionals to the page.

I attached the die cut rainbow pieces from the Brilliant Rainbows Dies with Mulitpurpose Glue. It's so cool how the dies coordinate together with the fun rainbow design found on the DSP!

Here's another sneak peek of some new Rhinestone Jewels! They come in three sizes and are iridescent! You get 200 to a pack. Just peel and stick.
