SCRAPBOOKING GLOBAL BLOG HOP OCTOBER 2021

Thanks to our Scrapbooking Global Design Team Member Sharni Haines for picking this month's theme challenge. It's called Tag It! My interpretation of the challenge was to use multiple "tags" on a page.

Welcome! It's almost time for Halloween!

I started with a 12" x 12" piece of Highland Heather cardstock for my base. Next, I selected several patterns of paper from the Cute Halloween 6" x 6" DSP pack. I went with the black & white stripe pattern as my focal point. I cut two strips that were 1" x 6" for the left side of the page. NOTE: if you want the strips to line up perfectly you may need to cut the same pattern from multiple sheets of paper.

Using the same strip pattern, I cut a piece that was 5" x 6". Adhere this piece towards the center of your page but DO NOT glue the top left corner down! You'll find out the reason why below.

I cut a 4-1/4" x 4-1/2" piece of Polka Dot paper and adhered it to the base slightly overlapping the stripe pattern.

Next, I cut a 2" x 6" and 2" x 2" piece of the multi-colored horizontal thin stripe pattern of DSP. When you place the two pieces together it creates an 8" piece that will overlap both sides of the DSP. Cut both the ends in a pennant shape and adhere to the base.

Let's talk about the tags! I die cut this adorably cute tag in Highland Heather cardstock using the Tailor Made Tags Dies (largest one). I then added some fun elements that include other die cut images from the Frightful Tags Dies (Spooky Tree, White Picket Fence). Using the Halloween Punch, I punched the image of the jack-o-lantern out from one of the patterns found in the DSP pack. After my tag was fully assembled, I adhered it to the base using several dimenionals.

I decided I needed a place to do some journaling about our Halloween night so I die cut this tag using the same die as noted above in Basic White cardstock. The tag slips easily in and out from behind the striped DSP. I stamped "Happy Halloween" from the Frightfully Cute Stamp Set. STAMPING TIP: I covered the "to you" with a post it note so it wouldn't stamp on my tag. Each tag also has the Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon tied at the top.

I die cut the Spider Web from the Frightful Tags Dies in Basic Black cardstock. I sort of "tucked it" behind the Highland Heather tag as shown.

The bats were die cut in Basic Black using the Seasonal Swirls Dies. I also added some iridescence to the page with the Cute Stars Adhesive-Backed Sequins in Highland Heather.

I stamped the title in Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock. I die cut the image out using the label die from the Frightful Tags Dies.

I wanted to add a touch of sparkle so I die cut the witch hat using the Black 12" x 12" Glitter Paper. I attached the hat to the page using several small dimensionals.

Such a fun page. I smiled as soon as I saw it! Having the option to pull the tag out for journaling is my favorite use of tags. Great job on this page. Thanks for sharing!

All the little die cut elements are soooo cute!! What a fun fun page and I bet the little ones just love looking at it and enjoying it!! And the little angled piece of paper at the top o such a great way to point to the action!!! Love this.
Rae Jean another cute layout from you, the use of those papers were just so appropriate. I always overlook Halloween DSP and stamps as I don't celebrate BUT that spider's web and those bats are so cool!!! Thanks for joining in again.
Cheers Shaz
