CASE-ING TUESDAY #327 - PRETTY PUMPKINS

We made it to the end of October! Welcome back to another CASE-ing Tuesday Sketch Challenge! Did you know today is National Pumpkin Day? The U.S. celebrates National Pumpkin Day every October 26. To help celebrate National Pumpkin Day, I thought I would create a card centered around - you guessed it- a PUMPKIN!

Here's a look at the card I created for this week's challenge. I used the Pretty Pumpkin Stamp Set and a design from the Harvest Meadow 12" x 12" DSP pack.

The card we are CASE-ING this week is from the Holiday Mini Catalog and can be found on page 11. It features the Sweets & Treats Stamp Set. I love that sentiment-"Bring on Christmas!"

Here are the card dimensions if you want to play along with us! I followed the measurements exactly except for the sentiment. I used a 1" x 2-3/4" piece of Basic White Cardstock instead of the
1/2" x 2-1/4" listed above.

While I was flipping thorough all the designs of the Harvest Meadow 12" x 12" DSP. I stumbled upon this fun pattern that really caught my eye!

I focused on the following two colors this week:
  1. Bumblebee
  2. Misty Moonlight

I started with a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Bumblebee card base scored at 4-1/4" and folded in half. I adhered the 4" x 5-1/4" DSP layer onto the card base.

I cut a 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" square in Misty Moonlight. Next, I heat embossed the pumpkin image with Bronze Embossing Powder on a 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" Basic White square. Adhere this layer on the Misty Moonlight square cardstock layer and then adhere it to the card base.

I added several fun elements to the card design. One includes these fun Champagne Rhinestones.

I a bow using the Misty Moonlight Baker's Twine found in the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack. One pack comes with three ribbons!

These sweet Square Vellum Doilies add poise and elegance to your handmade card. I find myself using them A LOT! I actually trimmed the corners off on one of the doilies to create this shape. Next, I gently tucked it under the Misty Moonlight cardstock layer and adhered it with a glue dot. It's kind of hard to see, but I also added one on the upper left corner. It's underneath the bow.

For the greeting, I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso Ink. I attached it to the card base using several dimensionals.

Now it's your turn! Create your take on this week's sample and be sure to share it on the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group using #caseingtuesday327.
