CASE-ING TUESDAY #313 - PLENTIFUL PLANTS

It's finally Tuesday! I don't know about you, but I always look forward to these sketch challenges. They help give me a jump start on my week and give me the creative edge I need to follow through on other projects.

I've been eyeing the Plentiful Plants Bundle for a CASE-ing Tuesday sketch challenge for awhile now. You may remember that last week's card sample was created using this fun suite. One thing I have learned, is there are unlimited possibilities when it comes to creating the pots and plants. You can even die cut pots and plants from the coordinating DSP! It saves time.

This week's card is featured on page 25 of the Annual Catalog. It highlights the Painted Poppies Stamp Set found on the previous page.

Here's a look at the measurements being provided. I kept my card simple and only changed the 3-1/8" x 1-7/8" piece of cardstock into a die cut instead.

I used this image for my design inspiration! I love how macrame plant hangers are making a come back!

I started with a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Evening Evergreen card base scored at 4-1/4" and folded in half. I selected the brick design from the Bloom Where You Are Planted 12" x 12" DSP. Trim down to 3/4" x 5-1/2" and adhere to the left side of the card base. Don't forget! You can save 15% off this DSP during the month of July!

For the next step, I cut a 3-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White cardstock. I embossed this piece using the Macrame 3D embossing folder. Check out that great detail! Adhere this layer to the card base leaving approximately 1/4" on the sides.

I stamped the pot in Cinnamon Cider Ink and die cut the image out using the coordinating Perfect Plants Dies. I stamped the plant in Soft Succulent Ink and die cut the image out using the same dies. I attached a glue dot on the backside of the pot and attached the plant. I liked the potted plant just the way it was, but decided I wanted to add a macrame plant hanger to add a bit of dimension and added detail. I used a Dark Evening Evergreen Stampin' Blend to color a 8" piece of Linen Thread. I tied that through the the hole of the macrame plant holder and tucked the ends behind the Basic White embossed cardstock layer.

I die cut the label using the second largest label die from the Hippo & Friends Dies in Smoky Slate cardstock. I stamped the greeting in Evening Evergreen Ink on a Smoky Slate  TIP: Don't center the greeting on the label. Stamp it more towards the left side of the label instead. You need to leave enough room on the right side for the plant embellishment. Adhere the label to the front of the card. Attach the macrame plant embellishment using several small dimensionals. Last but not least, I added (3) Genial Gems.

I hope you like the card I created!

Now it's your turn! Create your take on this week's sample and be sure to share it on the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group using #caseingtuesday313.
