CASE-ING TUESDAY #312 - BATTER UP!
Hello and welcome to another CASE-ING TUESDAY SKETCH CHALLENGE! I'm so glad you are joining me today!
Do you enjoy baseball? My card today marks a special occasion for all MLB fans!
It's an exciting day here in Denver! The 2021 ALL-STAR GAME is being held at Coors Field. This marks the second All-Star Game for both the city and the venue, following the 1998 All-Star Game. I thought I would create a card that honors this special occasion.
The example card features the Plentiful Plants Bundle found on page 80 of the Annual Catalog. I love this set! I've created a several projects with it, but still need to create a few more.
I followed the measurements of the sketch exactly this week. I used elements from the May 2021 Batter Up! Paper Pumpkin Kit which I've shown below.
If you are a current Paper Pumpkin Subscriber you can still order the refill kit. Just keep in mind that doesn't include the stamp set. However, there are so many die cut elements in the refill kit. I really don't think you need the stamp set.
For my card, I started with a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Night of Navy card base scored at 4-1/4" and folded in half. The kit comes with nine cards, but I cut the cards in half and used the patterns to create the fun strips for my card. I also included a strip of Crushed Curry solid cardstock and Real Red solid cardstock.
I stamped the All Star (kind of fitting-don't you think?!) in Night of Navy Ink on Basic White cardstock. I love how this element resembles a base. I attached it to the card base using dimensionals.
The baseball and the bats are both die cuts that came inside the kit. I stamped the baseball hat in Night of Navy Ink on Basic White cardstock and then fussy cut the hat out. I used a small dimensional and glue dot to attach it to the end of the bat. I also used several small dimensionals to attach the baseball and both the bats.
