CASE-ING TUESDAY #296 - KANGAROO & COMPANY

Hello! It's CASE-ing Tuesday! Here's the fun card I created for today's sketch challenge.

Want to play along? Today's card was CASE'D from page 71 of the Mini Catalog. The original card features the Treasures of Life Stamp Set. 

I started with Thick Basic White for my card base.  

I purchased the Kangaroo & Company Stamp Set a few weeks ago and have been eager to use it. Once I saw this week's sketch challenge I knew it was going to be perfect. I didn't really follow the measurements exactly this week. I went with a Petal Pink Detailed Hearts Die Cut in place of the DSP as being shown in the sketch. I also used one of the frames from the Ornate Layers Dies in place of the 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" measurement. 

I stamped the Kangaroo image in Memento Black Ink directly on the Basic White Frame. Next, I colored the Kangaroo's body using Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends. I used the Ivory Stampin' Blend for the chest and Light Flirty Flamingo for the nose and inside the ear. 

The hearts found in her pouch were actually left over from when I cut out the die. I glued two of them down and then added Stampin' Mini Dimensionals on the other three for added dimension.

I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and die cut with a small circle. I then layered it on top of the smallest Stitched Layers Circle in Petal Pink. I absolutely LOVE the White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon! It's one of my favorite ribbons that Stampin' Up! currently offers. I used it to tie a bow around the frame before adhering it directly to the card base. 

This card could easily be CASE'D for a baby boy as well. Just switch out the colors to Seaside Spray. Or need a gender neutral card instead? I would go with So Saffron or Pear Pizzazz for alternative color options.
