Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop January 2021
Hello! Welcome to My Stampin Memories. My name is Rae Jean Communal. I feel like I am already starting the year off right participating in the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop January 2021. My goal this year is to create one scrapbooking page or layout every two weeks. This month's theme challenge was Just Me - Scrap Yourself. I hope you find inspiration in everyone's scrapbooking.
Just me. This was different! I'm so used to scrapbooking everyone else in my family (especially my daughter) that I have forgotten about me. I have to admit it was quite a challenge. It's not every day that I take a selfie and then actually print it. I rely a great deal on social media for self portraits. The one's that disappear once I post them on my story. I'm glad you get to see this before it disappears!
When I saw the Fine Art Floral Suite in the new Mini Catalog I instantly fell in love. All the colors were perfect for me. I picked my favorite designs from the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper and began working on my page!
I focused on the following colors: Bumblebee, Pretty Peacock, Petal Pink, Pool Party, So Saffron, Terracotta Tile, & Whisper White.
I have to admit I was a little reluctant to use the Gilded Leafing Embellishment in Gold. It looks very intimidating, but to my surprise, it was super easy to use! It's a lot like heat embossing.
Just follow these simple steps:
- Stamp the flower base. I used Pool Party ink. Then stamp the flower detail using VersaMark Ink.
- Apply Heat & Stick Powder, then use a Heat Tool to activate the adhesive.
- Add Gilded Leafing Embellishment.
- Brush off any excess.
- I used the fine tip of a Stampin' Write Marker in Pretty Peacock to add a bit of color around the Gold Leafing.
Gold Glimmer Enamel Dots add just the right amount of sparkle!
I always love two step stamping.
What is Two Step Stamping you ask? It simply means using two or more stamps to create one image. I'm not sure if Stampin' Up! coined the term. To me, it's creative genius! When it comes to the outcome, it usually means more texture, more color, more depth - all by using the same stamps and inks that we use everyday for paper crafting. No crazy art skills required.
Now It's Your Turn
If you have two-step stamps and never used them, go for it! Give it a try! I often find that those that don't use them are just because they aren't sure how to use them. It's one of my favorite techniques.
I backed the photo on a sheet of GORGEOUS Golden Garden Designer Specialty Acetate. It comes in three designs with gold foiling.
The "Just" was cut in Pretty Peacock cardstock using the coordinating Floral Gallery Dies. The "Me" was cut using the Playful Alphabet Dies.
Well, I hope you enjoyed my scrapbook page that was "Just Me".
Thanks for stopping by!
