We Create Blog Hop - New Year, New Look
Happy New Year! I'm excited to be joining the We Create Blog Hop today! If it's your first time visiting my page, I'm so happy you are here!
Our theme challenge this month was New Year, New Look. I decided to feature the Light the Sky Bundle that is carrying over to the new catalog. This fun bundle features fireworks and can be used for many celebrations including New Years, 4th of July, Graduation, Birthday etc..
Here are the supplies I used:
Stamp Set: Light the Sky
Dies: Light the Sky & Nested Essentials
Cardstock: Starry Sky & Blackberry Bliss
Designer Series Paper: Stargazing 12" x 12"
Specialty Paper: More Dazzle 6" x 6" in Champagne
Ink: Night of Navy & Blackberry Bliss
Embellishments: Rhinestone Basic Jewels
Ribbon: Gold & Vanilla 3/8" Satin Edged
Accessories: Sponge Dauber
Let's create this fun card! I started with a 4-1/4" x 11" scored at 5-1/2" Night of Navy card base. The 4" x 5-1/4" background paper is from the Stargazing 12" x 12" Paper Pack. Isn't that night sky cool? Using the large firework die from the Light the Sky Dies, I cut the image out. Once complete, I adhered the DSP layer on a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of More Dazzle Specialty Paper in Champagne. HELPFUL TIP: use Tear & Tape to adhere the DSP to the More Dazzle Specialty Paper. Tombow Multipurpose Glue or Snail won't stick. Adds just the right amount of sparkle-don't you think?
Next, I wrapped a 5" piece of Gold & Vanilla 3/8" Satin Edged Ribbon around the DSP layer. Adhere the DSP layer to a piece of 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" Blackberry Bliss cardstock. Adhere the cardstock layer to the front of the card base.
For the "Happy New Year" sentiment, I stamped the greeting in Night of Navy ink on Basic White cardstock. I used the label from the Nested Essentials Dies to cut the saying out. Attach the label to the bottom of the card front as shown.
For even more sparkle, I decided to add several Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
Want to learn how I created the burst of color effect on the center firework? Check out the steps below.
Die cut the image out using the coordinating firework from the Light the Sky dies. Attach the die cut to the center of the firework as shown.
