SCRAPBOOKING GLOBAL BLOG HOP APRIL 2022

It's time for another Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop! If it's your first time visiting my page, I'm so happy you are here!

Our theme challenge this month was Vellum. Vellum by definition is a type of paper that is actually made from calfskin. However, today most vellum is made from cotton fibers. It's a smooth, translucent paper that comes in different weights from thin and delicate to rigid. I personally love working with vellum because it adds a simple but elegant touch to all craft projects.

The April theme challenge was selected by Sharni Haines.

I've been trying to bash some of my paper stash (use up all my leftovers). I happened to have a full sheet of this fun floral pattern design leftover from my Sweet Symmetry 12" x 12" DSP pack. My next task was to find the right picture that would compliment the colors and unique design of this paper. I got lucky and didn't have to look very hard. This is a picture of my daughter enjoying a day at the park. She was on an outing with Grandma. The weather was beautiful that day. Bright and sunny!

Here are the design measurements:

Basic White Cardstock Circle: 7"
Vellum: 5" x 8-1/2"
Sweet Symmetry Bumblebee Floral Design: 4-1/4" x 6-1/2"
Sweet Symmetry Floral Design: 4" x 8-1/4"
Basic White Cardstock: 4" x 6"
(2) Crumb Cake Tags: 4"
(3) Sweet Symmetry DSP Banners: 1" x 2-1/2"

My vellum elements are slightly hidden throughout my layout. As you can see here, I layered a piece of Vellum under additional scraps from the same paper collection.

HELPFUL TIP: I hand cut the Basic White Circle using a salad plate! LOL!

Using the Flowers of Friendship Bundle, I punched out several Vellum flowers after heat embossing each one with White Embossing Powder. I decided to add a hint of color so I grabbed a sponge dauber and gently rubbed Flirty Flamingo Ink all over. Once finished, I grabbed a tissue and wiped off any excess ink. The areas that are heat embossed actually resist the color leaving the white border around the edges. The color will only stay on the vellum.

I used a stencil along with Bumblebee Ink to add this sunburst element to the page.

I created these journaling tags using Crumb Cake cardstock and the Delightful Tag Topper Punch that is retiring soon! The Flirty Flamingo 1/4" Metallic Ribbon is also on the last chance product list! It helps add an elegant touch with the hues of gold thread.

Another favorite product of mine is the Banners Pick A Punch! It's actually six punches in one!  I created these three banners using various scraps from the paper collection. They turned out perfectly! The "DAY" title was created using the soon to retired Playful Alphabet Dies. I love having these dies on hand when I need a basic font.

I love how you used vellum as a mat behind your photo. Although subtle it really adds a nice touch to the layout. Beautiful layout!
Totally love this layout. I'm going to scraplift this one. Thanks for the wonderful ideas with all the different papers, including the vellum of course. Great job!
