CASE-ING TUESDAY #352 - HUES OF HAPPINESS PRODUCT SUITE SNEAK PEEK
Time for a terrific Tuesday! I have some wonderful news to share. I was recently invited to join the CASE-ing Tuesday Bloggers! This talented group consists of fourteen members who love to CASE cards from the catalogs! I'm so honored to join this fun group of ladies.
Here's what you have been waiting for...another new 2022-23 Annual Catalog product sneak peek! I created this GORGEOUS slimline card using products from the Hues of Happiness Product Suite found on page 108 & 109 of the new catalog. While I was flipping through the pages. This suite immediately caught my eye. The bright & bold colors coordinates so well with all the different hues of a rainbow. All I can say is it's simply STUNNING in person! I know a lot of you probably can't wait to get your hands on it.
I have to admit this was my first time creating a slimline card! A slimline card is a long and narrow card that is made to fit in a business size envelope. This is the perfect size for a #9 or #10 size envelope. Since you have a large surface to design, you can easily create a fun scene or add bold elements of design. The only negative thing I found when it comes to designing a slimline card, is you can only cut one card base from a full sheet of paper. Rather than two standard A2 card bases that I am used to.
Check out the original slimline card we are CASE-ing (Copy And Share Everything) found on page 2 of the Spring Catalog.
Here are the slimline card measurements. You can mix it up a little or a lot. It's totally up to you! I followed the measurements exactly this week.
Slimline Card Measurements:
Highland Heather Cardstock: 7" x 8-1/2" score at 3-1/2" (short side) & folded in half
Hues of Happiness DSP (Flower Design front): 2-3/8" x 8-1/2"
Basic White Cardstock: 2-3/4" x 5-1/2"
I used White Embossing Powder and heat embossed the flowers on Starry Sky, Gorgeous Grape, and Highland Heather Cardstock. Then I die cut the images out using the coordinating Blossoming Happiness Dies. Next, I grabbed a Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends Marker and used it to color the inside of each flower. Now the flowers match the DSP so well.
I attached the two large flowers using dimensionals. I adhered the smaller one using glue. I stamped the leaves in Mossy Meadow Ink on Basic White cardstock and then colored them in using both the Light & Dark Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends Markers. Again, die cut the images out. Attach the die cuts to the card base using adhesive or dimensionals.
I love the spiral notebook border you see here. It's another great border die that can be found in the Happiness Abounds Bundle. I stamped the greeting in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Next, adhere the layer to the center of the card base as shown.
Slimline Envelope:
Starry Sky Cardstock: 8-1/2" x 11"
Score Vertically: 2-1/2" & 6-1/2"
Score Horizontally: 1-1/2" & 10-1/2"
Trim each of the corners out using paper snips. I found if you trim the two flaps at the top at a slight angle, it helps the upper flap close better and looks more professional. Fold all the flaps inward, and then round all four corners using the Detailed Trio Punch. This is what the
top should look like once you are done.
I recommend attaching a strong adhesive such as Tear and Tape to three of the flaps. DO NOT place it on the wider flap. Remove the paper backing on all the flaps except for the top. Fold and adhere. This is what the bottom looks like when you are done.
Now it's your turn! Create your take on this week's sample and be sure to share it on the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group using #caseingtuesday352.
