CASE-ING TUESDAY #346 - PARADISE PALMS

Hi everyone! Welcome back to another CASE-ing Tuesday Sketch Challenge! I paired two fun products from the Mini Catalog for the card I am sharing with you today. The first product is the GORGEOUS New Horizons 6" x 6" DSP. The second product is this FABULOUS stamp set called Paradise Palms. Combining the two together helped create this "little paradise".

The example card we are CASE-ing this week can be found on page 79 of the Spring Mini Catalog. It features the adorable Happy Hedgehogs Bundle again from last week.

Here are the measurements if you would like to play along. I followed each of them exactly for the card I created today.

I started with a Petal Pink card base. Next, I cut one of the designs found in the New Horizons 6" x 6" DSP paper pack. I focused on the design that helped me imagine an AMAZING sunset was right in front of me. I trimmed the paper down to 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" and attached it to the 4-1/4" x 5" Basic White cardstock layer.

Attach the Basic White cardstock layer to the card base as shown.

Now comes the fun part! On a 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Basic White cardstock I stamped the "Retirement Wishes" in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink towards the upper right corner. I stamped the sun image in So Saffron Ink on the opposite corner.

Next, I grabbed my Pear Pizzazz & Soft Suede Stampin' Markers.

Using the brush tip, I colored the bottom portion of the palm trees with the Soft Suede Marker. Using the brush tip on the Pear Pizzazz marker, I colored the top portion of the palm trees.

HELPFUL TIP: To keep the ink moist before you stamp the image I always like to "huff" on my stamp.

The image will look like the one above once it is stamped on the paper. Pretty cool, huh?!

To create this cool water impression, I grabbed my Balmy Blue Ink Pad.

I randomly stamped the water image on a 1-1/2" x 4-1/4" Basic White cardstock layer.

I repeated this process over and over again moving the stamp as I go.

Here is what my cardstock layer looked like after several attempts.

Here is what the finished project looks like once you have reached the end of your stamping journey. It gives it a great "ripple" effect.

Almost done! I stuck dimensionals on all four corners and peeled off the backing so the sticky side faces up. Then I wrapped Baker's Twine around the top of the layer three times and finished by tying a bow. Once complete, attach this layer to the card base as shown.

I added (3) Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels in various sizes.

Now it's your turn! Create your take on this week's sample and be sure to share it on the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group using #caseingtuesday346.
