Monday Montage Instahop - Cap & Gown Graduation Card 🎓
Hats off to all the Grads! Join us for another Monday Montage Instahop! Commemorate the accomplishments of graduates with a thoughtful, handmade card. I combined multiple stamp sets to design this festive graduation card, and added gold heat embossing to make the accents pop.
Card Measurements:
- Card Base - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (scored at 4 1/4") Thick Basic White
- Cardstock Layer - 4" x 5 1/4" Basic Black
- Specialty Paper Layer - 4 1/8" x 3 7/8" Gold Foil
- Cardstock Layer 2 - 3 3/4" x 5" Basic White
- Everyday Arches Die Cut - 3" x 4 1/4" (7th largest) Basic White
- Sentiment - 1/2" x 1 3/4" Basic White
To create the card, I adhered the Gold Foil Specialty Paper Layer on the Basic Black Cardstock Layer. I stamped the small graduation cap from the Cap & Gown Stamp Set randomly in Memento Tuxedo Basic Black ink on the Basic White Cardstock Layer. I heat embossed the stars from the Cutest Onesie Stamp Set using Metallics WOW Gold Embossing Powder once they have been stamped in VersaMark ink. Be sure to rotate your stamp after stamping each one. Once complete, adhere the Basic White Cardstock layer to the center of the Gold Foil Specialty Paper Layer. Using a Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, die cut the arch from the Everyday Arches Dies. Stamp the "reaching for the stars" in VersaMark ink on the top corner of the die cut. HELPFUL TIP: photopolymer stamps make it easy to bend or flex the stamp for easy alignment. Heat emboss using the Metallics WOW Gold Embossing Powder once again. Stamp the graduation gown & hat in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Wrap 12" of Gold 1 1/2" Open Weave Trim around the Basic Black cardstock layer and tie a bow. Trim excess off ends. Adhere to the card front. Using dimensionals, apply the arch die cut to the center of the stamped card layer. Stamp the "Graduate!" greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Trim both ends at an angle. Attach to the card front using dimensionals. I added some retired star embellishments in black to finish the look.
