CASE-ING TUESDAY #512 - SUNRISE SAILING ⛵
Come sail away with me! I had so much fun creating the effect of a sailboat in motion using multiple patterns of the 2025-2027 In Color 6"x 6" Designer Series Paper for my back drop. In order to complete the look, I stamped waves underneath the sailboat. Then I added a fluffy white clouds and seagulls to complete my ocean scene.
How to play along? Makeover the card (pictured above). You can change a little or a lot, or make the card just as it is in the featured catalog. Then post your card to the CASE-ing Tuesday group on Facebook. You can use the sketch as a guide when creating your card. We can't wait to see your cards! Include #caseingtuesday512 for social media.
At a first glance, the Cloud Cover striped design from the 2025-2027 In Color 6"x 6" Designer Series Paper reminded me of soft waves replicating the ocean. The speckled Secret Sea design from the same paper pack gave me a starry night vibe. I knew both of these patterns would be perfect for the sketch challenge today.
I stamped the line art sail boat image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Basic White cardstock. Using the Sunrise Sailing Hybrid Embossing Folder (includes the coordinating metal dies), I die cut the sail boat and used dimensionals to place it on top of the Cloud Cover Arch. From the Everyday Arches Dies.
The Sunrise Sailing is a two-step stamp set. That means you can layer two or more images to create one final image. As seen here, I stamped the sails with Poppy Parade ink.
I stamped the bottom of the sailboat using Crumb Cake ink. I love the look of the seagulls flying in the background. Each one was stamped in Secret Sea ink on the Everyday Arches die cut. Next, I added several fluffy clouds to complete the scene.
I created the effect of the sailboat in motion by stamping the waves tone on tone using Cloud Cover ink.
To complete my card, I stamped the "Happy Retirement" greeting in Secret Sea ink on a Basic White label.
