Welcome back to another CASE-ing Tuesday Sketch Challenge! Praying for all my friends and family in Florida. Please stay safe. I've got a super fun technique to share with you today. I used the baby wipe technique to create this GORGEOUS snowflake card.
The example card we are CASE-ing can be found on page 61 of the Holiday Mini Catalog.
Want to play along this week? Here's a look at the card measurements. I followed the measurements exactly except for the greeting which was cut to 7/8" x 3-7/8".
I used Evening Evergreen for the card base. I dry embossed a piece of Soft Succulent cardstock using the Wintry 3D Embossing Folder. The next paper layer includes a piece of the snowflake design from the Texture Chic 12" x 12" DSP. It coordinates perfectly with the snowflake theme.
Now comes the fun part! You will need the following supplies to attempt the Baby Wipe Technique:
Single Baby Wipe
Clear Block F
Evening Evergreen Classic Stampin' Ink Refill
Soft Succulent Classic Stampin' Ink Refill
Mint Macaron Classic Stampin' Ink Refill
Favorite Stamp
Piece of Basic White Cardstock
Select your favorite Classic Stampin' Ink Refill color choices. As I mentioned above, I decided on a ombre (dark to light) choice of colors.
Place a single baby wipe across the top of Clear Block F.
Next, randomly squeeze several drops of Evening Evergreen Classic Stampin' Ink Refill on the baby wipe as you can see above.
Repeat this step again, but this time use the Soft Succulent Classic Stampin' Ink Refill.
Repeat the step one last time using the Mint Macaron Classic Stampin' Ink Refill. Your baby wipe should now look similar to the one I have pictured above. A little messy. LOL!
Place your stamp on the baby wipe and gently tap it several times.
Stamp the snowflake image on a piece of Basic White cardstock. The cool thing about this coloring technique is that you will never have two images exactly alike! You can see how all the colors blended together nicely to create a unique ombre coloring effect!
Here's another look at the finished cardstock layer I created.
I stamped the greeting in Evening Evergreen Ink and attached it to the card front using dimensionals.
I die cut the snowflakes using the Snowy White 12" x 12" Velvet Sheets. I attached both the large snowflakes to the card base using Mini Glue Dots. I used a Mini Dimensional for the small one.
I added (5) Iridiscent Rhinestones Basic Jewels for a touch of bling!
I cut a 10" piece of Evening Evergreen 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon and tied a bow. I attached it to the card base using a Mini Glue Dot.
I hope you decide to give the Baby Wipe Technique a try! If so, please leave a comment letting me know what you thought about this fun coloring technique!
Happy Stamping!
