February Card Technique

Inset Die-Cut Puzzle

Definition: Puzzle effect created with alternating colors of nesting die cut shapes.

Supplies: Layering Framelits, Cardstock, Stampin' Dimensionals, Embossing Buddy & Big Shot

  1. Select a layering framelits dies. Sample uses the Be Mine Stitched Framelits
  2. Select 2 or more colors of cardstock that complement your design.
  3. Carefully nest layering framelits together from the largest to smallest. If making more than one use Blue Painter's Tape to hold framelits together the way you want them. Tap Embossing Buddy on sticky side of tape so it doesn't stick to or rip cardstock.
  4. Place the nested framelits onto cardstock and run through the Big Shot. Go back and forth twice to make sure all the layers cut well.
  5. Remove the cardstock from the dies without seperating the dies from the tape.
  6. Run nested framelits through the Big Shot with a second color of cardstock.
  7. Adhere the largest shape to your project with Snail or liquid glue. From the other color of die cuts select the next largest piece and nest it inside without adhering. Select either the first color or the next color and adhere it inside the second piece.
  8. Remove the second piece and adhere it back in place with Stampin' Dimensionals. Repeat alternating pattern with remaining pieces.
TIP: If using two colors you'll have enough die-cuts for 2 projects, if using 3 colors you'll have enough for 3 projects and so on.
