Monday Montage - Jolly Holly Christmas Card
Welcome to another Monday Montage Instahop! Incorporate Holly imagery on your Christmas cards for a classic, festive touch. Holly is instantly recognizable and evokes holiday warmth and tradition. Want to learn how I created the Holly elements for today's card? Check out the steps below.
Cut a 4" x 5-1/4" Basic White cardstock layer. Grab a large blending brush and ink pad of your choice.
Place the brush head directly onto the ink pad for absorption. Next, gently apply the ink onto the Basic White cardstock using circular motions. Repeat this step until the Basic White cardstock layer is completely covered in ink.
Place the Basic White cardstock layer in the Jolly Holly Hybrid Embossing Folder.
Use the dark line (noted at the top of the Embossing Folder) as your guide.
Place the coordinating metal die inside the Embossing Folder. You will feel it "snap" into place. Be sure the cutting edge faces down on the cardstock. The flat side of the metal die should be showing once the Embossing Folder has been closed.
Using the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, die cut the Basic White cardstock layer.
Here's what the paper will look once the die cutting has been completed. Notice the AMAZING details. This versatile product let's you create a textured background of holly leaves and berries, along with partial pop-up leaves
This versatile product let's you create a textured background of holly leaves and berries, along with partial pop-up leaves that add delightful dimension to your Christmas cards.
Trust me, the dimension can be left just as it is, but I opted to grab my Paper Snips and cut each of the Holly leaves separating them from the cardstock layer.
The final aspect of design is placing each of the cut-outs directly over the top of the coordinating one on another dry embossed 4" x 5-1/4" Basic White cardstock layer using dimensionals.
